- Mensimulasikan pelacakan arus pada bahan isolasi padat dengan memberikan tetesan NH4Cl antara elektroda. Selama penggunaan normal bahan isolasi dapat terkena kelembaban dan kotoran, jika kotoran tersebut bersifat konduktif, dapat menyebabkan stress/tegangan dan dapat mengakibatkan bahaya kebakaran.
Comparative Tracking Index Test Apparatus is designed to carry out the comparative tracking index test described in IEC 60112. As per the standard, Tracking is “Progressive formation of conducting paths, which are produced on the surface and/or within a solid insulating material, due to the combined effects of electric stress and electrolytic contamination.” And Tracking Failure is “Failure of insulation due to tracking between conducting parts.”
The Comparative Tracking Index Test Apparatus provides a safe method to test insulators as per the standard. In this test, an insulator is subject to high voltage with the help of electrodes and a contaminant is dropped on the insulator between the electrodes. The comparative tracking index of the insulator is thus found out.
